Overview
Background
Linkify is a learning project developed as part of the App Design course at FPT University (Spring 2025). The app was designed to explore digital transformation in Vietnam’s supply chain sector — connecting manufacturers, distributors, and small retailers on a single, transparent platform.
At its core, Linkify aims to simplify order management, inventory tracking, and logistics coordination, while fostering collaboration and sustainability across all supply chain stakeholders. Though not a commercial product, it was exhibited as one of the most comprehensive learning projects of the semester.

Problem statement
Vietnam’s retail market is still dominated by traditional businesses — over 75% of retailers are small grocery stores. These merchants often face challenges such as:
Manual inventory management and fragmented communication channels
Time-consuming ordering and delivery processes
Lack of transparency and real-time data between supply chain partners
Meanwhile, manufacturers and distributors struggle to forecast demand, manage logistics, and maintain consistent communication with retailers. Linkify was created to address these pain points by providing a systematic, connected, and data-driven approach to supply chain management.

Our Process for Linkify
We followed a human-centered design approach, combining market research, user interviews, and journey mapping to understand pain points across all three user types: manufacturers, distributors, and small retailers.
Through this process, our team focused on building a unified platform that simplifies daily operations while empowering businesses to transition smoothly into digital management.
Key Actions Taken
User Research & Insights:
We analyzed the supply chain ecosystem in Ho Chi Minh City and conducted empathy mapping for all three roles. Insights revealed a critical need for trust, real-time coordination, and simpler digital tools that align with familiar business habits.
Information Architecture & Flow:
User journeys were mapped for each persona — retailer, distributor, and manufacturer — identifying friction points in inventory management, order tracking, and payment. This informed a clear, role-based site map and dashboard layout.
Design System & UI Framework:
We built a cohesive design system using the Manrope and Inter typefaces, a calm blue–aqua color palette, and modular components. The interface emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and smooth navigation across multiple user types.
Simplified Dashboard:
A role-specific dashboard was designed to allow instant access to orders, inventory data, and financial reports, while maintaining a consistent structure across devices.
Key Features Introduced
Real-time inventory and order tracking
Role-based dashboards for each stakeholder
Streamlined digital order creation and invoice export
Automatic data synchronization across parties
Clean, scalable design system with consistent UX patterns
